About the APJ

Founded in 2018, Australian Photographers’ Journal is an online platform for street, documentary and fine art photography as well as photojournalism. Through interviews, essays, articles, book projects, documentaries and online events we seek to start conversations about photography, to engage our community, provide a platform for emerging photographers to grow and expand their practices and importantly; to highlight Australian photographers for a global audience.

The APJ is delivered as a newsletter, straight to your email inbox. It's free and always will be.

We put a lot of time and work in to writing articles that we think the Australian photography community will find both interesting and useful. By signing up, you'll help us to continue creating this content, you'll get access to all stories published on the APJ and you will receive new articles before anyone else does – delivered straight to your inbox.

Best of all; it doesn't cost you anything and we don't share data with third parties. For the details on this last point, you can check out our Privacy Policy.

The APJ was founded by Australian photographer, Sam Edmonds. Sam began his career working on film productions in Antarctica and Canada before spending years as a freelance photojournalist and then migrating his work into communications. You can reach out by email at: ausphotojournal@gmail.com
